Fleamarket Finds

I wasn't going to join Fleamarket Finds today, I thought I'd just check out other people's treasures instead. That was before I went to the Sunday Market with Rosie, and a little trip to the Tip Shop!!

The market was full of happy eople & sunshine, what a combo! I found this framed picture which will go nicely with similar ones in the sunroom.

Rosie had only one thing on her mind, besides donuts, and that was a doll head with brushable hair! Excitement. She came home and has spent a long time grooming this rather scary creature. Lots of hair clips and some serious brushing.

Today I spent a happy hour cutting out fabric for a vintage quilt, inspired by Red Chocolate's recent post. This quilt above was found at an oppy recently and is airing in the autumn breeze, out front.

Another market find this morning. A sweet ironing board & wooden iron.

As I was driving home from dropping Rosie at her friends house for a play a voice said to me "Go to the Tip Shop, there you will find treasure!!" I am so damn obedient, I went straight there! And yes, I found a little fire grate thingie for the fire place (night's are cold in these parts) & an ace box of coloured blocks.

And a fabulous box of vintage books!! I was going to just buy a couple but at $1 for the box it seemed like a bargain. Have you been treasure hunting lately? I'm going to have a squizz via Sophie's gorgeous blog. Enjoy your Sunday, see you soon xo ps: come see me tomorrow, I'm feeling a giveaway coming on....

What a great day full of fabulous finds!
My daughter has one of those scary heads........I keep it way up high in a cupboard, it only comes out when she spies it and asks me to get it down - I do find it rather creepy!

Always listen to those little voices, except somethimes i think I make up the voices just for an excuse to go to an oppy! What great finds. Proves the rule of thumb, when you don't look, you will find. xxNick

You have done really well Beck! Books look really great, iron and ironing board and fantastic your girl got one of those 'rather scary looking' heads!
My girl would love one too but, they are awful looking things and I just couldn't by a new one!
You would think that the toy manufacturers could do better than that whats currently on offer! Michele x

You're a very talented oppyshopper, no doubt about it. We have a Barbie head like that, but the Bratz one is definitely scarier.

I love that quilt you got, and am excited about seeing the quilt you make too! Amazing stuff as usual, you can never have too many wooden blocks, although like you I'm a bit freaked out by the doll head!

Such terrific finds. Those Bratz heads attract young girls like bees to honey. My 6 year old looooves them. Hours of entertainment. Just wait until she gets into your make-up draw and starts to give Ms Bratz a make-over!

I agree the doll head is scary but your little girl doesn't seem to mind! You have had a very successful hunt - good to listen to your inner-op shop Goddess when she speaks to you!

That box of blocks is so nostalgic for me. The shades of faded paint, even some of the exact shapes, are like the blocks that I played with as a girl. They were my mum's originally (so 1950s) and now my daughter has them to play with at mum's house. So nice that things can be enjoyed down the generations.
