Out & about

Wow, it's been a busy week! Back home from Mooloolaba on Tuesday, down to Melbourne on Wednesday night to see Charlotte in her Theatre Studies solo & then on Thursday I took Lucy & her bestie, Ella, to the city for some Girl Time.

They were keen to do some shopping, city style, so we hit Melbourne Central and had a ball. First stop was Sportsgirl where they both bought new totes, a huge hit! It was quite an eye opener for these two country girls to be in the hustle and bustle, lots to look at, and SO many people.

They loved going to the photo booth,

for some instant photo's!! My friends and I loved these photo booths when we were girls, I bet you have some stashed away somewhere too.

I couldn't resist taking a photo of the cool dress pattern wallpaper in the toilets, cute!

It was alot of fun hanging out with the girls, we went out for dinner, watched a movie, visited my mum & checked out the new playground in Woodend on the way home. Ten is such an interesting and charming age in so many ways, the were so excited about everything, and I loved hearing their thoughts & ideas. I have been conscious for a while that Lucy is growing up and needs different opportunities & experiences. It's sometimes hard in our house to find space for each child and this little trip was a good way of letting her know that I understand, as well as having some special big girl time.

Soon, of course, it was time to come home & a trip anywhere isn't quite right without a stop at the oppie. I found this little doll/bunny bed which will come up nicely with a coat of white paint.

This dear print, love the colours, love the heather!

And I forgot to show you this little case I picked up at the Trash & Treasure recently,

Filled with a sweet set of tea cups decorated with roses.

What are you up to on the weekend?
Our local Farmers Market is on and I"m thinking of going along to see the chicken man about some new chookies....
then we have a party on Sunday & lets not forget
the rematch between the Pies & the Saints!!
Hope you have a happy one,
see you soon xo

Lovely photos, and what a good visit you all had! 10 is a great age, and I love the way you make sure you take time with each of your children.

How lucky to find that tea set! I wish I could come to the farmers market. I bought some delicious jam there last time, and would love some more.

My girls are 9 1/2 and almost 12. I think this age is really hard to know what they want or don't want, what about you?

Show us pictures if you get any new chickens!!!

I really enjoyed this post Beck! I'm finding it really hard with our almost 10 year old. I find it hard to balance her needs against that of the others. So she ends up missing out. I think you've hit the nail on the head! Thanks for giving me some ideas on how to help her feel more loved :) xox

I still have the picture of you, me, Ben and Hannah from a photo booth. I used to love those days when you would take us out. Hopefully I can continue the tradition when I get home next year.
