Finnian, we love you!

I'm so excited and emotional today because we have a new baby nephew!!!
Finnian Love Meads was born on St Patricks Day in Hudson, Wisconsin and he is just beautiful. Doesn't Marks sister, Jen, look amazing too? Fin is the third child for Steven & Jen who also have a son, Indigo & a daughter, Tova. We had a lovely chat today and Jen was telling me they didn't have a name picked out so while she was in labour they googled Irish names and came up with Finnian. I love it, what a great name. Love is a Swedish name and pronounced 'loovay'. So his name is a great blend of cultures, just like his family.

I thought about them all on the long drive to Lancefield today. I was dropping off donated clothes & toys for the Vietnamese orphans I posted about recently.

It was good to be away from home and driving through unknown country. I love to look at the sky and fields and the old buildings that are so full of history.

And of course I managed to squeeze in bit of op shopping. Green seemed to be theme of the day, I couldn't believe I found this tablecloth too.

And this sweetest rosey pillowcase which has become an instant favourite.

Some great books and more linen.

I haven't read this yet, have you?

So now I'm off to do a couple of hours sewing before school pickup. I'm feeling a bit teary today, I think it's a combination of being sick this week, Mark being away & the new baby. It is hard to be so far away from family at times like this. I wish we could be closer to Jen & her family, the cousins are all growing up not knowing each other. I haven't met little Tova yet and they haven't met Rosie, imagine if we could just click our fingers and be together.

Still, the sky is blue outside and it's almost the weekend, yay!! Hope yours is a happy one. I'll be drawing out a name for my giveaway soon so do enter if you haven't yet. It's such a beautiful book and I should really have shown you some of the amazing colourful photo's. Lots of Australian art and the whole history of the Workshop is such a fascinating story. Take care sweeties, see you soon xo

Congratulations on the new family member - our family was extended on Saint Patricks Day with a little boy as well (my cousin first:) They called him Joshua (Kelly) is his surname so you cant get any more Irish than that:) Great finds. We used to live abot 40 minutes drive from Lanerfield and miss it.

Ohhhhh sweet little baby, brings a tear to my eye the newness is so new you can almost see the heaven sprinkles all over him! I too have had a sick week (and not in the "sick!" skate boarder kind of way) feeling teary and missing my mum. Love the bunnies too!

Confrtas to your sister! She looks FAB in this photo, and Finnian is gorgeous. Love the name too (will he be Finn??).

And that tea cup and saucer was warmly elegant... though I've given up drinking out of china cups. My boys have no respect for 'fine bone' anything ;)

Gah. I meant 'CONGRATS'. I am typing one-handed here. You'd think I'd be better at it now, huh, after all these years of practice.
