My Creative Space

This week I am breathing a sigh of relief as things seem to be a little calmer. The Love Hearts order for Big Dreams is finished, my first assignment for my course is handed in and the garlic has been weeded. Phew. I'm feeling like there is a bit more room to move, to look around me, to think & daydream.

I really enjoyed that last batch of Love Hearts (thank you for all your lovely comments), and I will be making more for the Daylesford Makers Market. But now there is some space for other ideas and projects. I found these buttons at the opshop yesterday, not sure what they will become yet but I like them! The white ones need cleaning, any ideas? I think someone suggested putting them in the dishwasher...

I can't get enough colour this week. The colours in the country are so inspiring at the moment. With all the rain we've had everything is so lush and bright. Which reminds me of this gorgeous pot holder which was a birthday present for my mum. Beautifully made by the very clever Kate, from Foxs Lane. Thanks so much Kate.

With the market coming up I am starting to sort through the leftovers and mayhem from last time. This bunny needed some eye surgery. His eyes were always a bit askew so he had a mini makeover today.
And he found a friend.

Do you think he needs pants?

I'm still wondering about these scrabble pieces. I think they might turn into brooches...

So my creative space today is filled with lots of finished and lots of unfinished things.
Questions, letters, buttons, bunnies, birds and the colours of the rainbow.

If I can just get through til tomorrow night, then my space is going to feel a lot more like yours. Breaaattthhhe. Thank you for the inspiration to stop procrastinating (hmn) and finish this tedious work thing. Loving your work!

PS. I just inherited a jar of buttons from a great Aunt. I reckon we could 'snap' on most of them!

Wonderful buttons! A hot soapy wash in the sink should do the trick.

Love those bright orange buttons. I think bunny does want some pants, he seems a little bashful, his nautical colours are lovely.

Oh he is so cute in his stripy top, and yes definately pants! The potholder for your mum is gorgeous, love all those colors. Can you wash the white buttons in white vinegar, it seems to remove mould off shower heads so maybe it will work, lol!

Lovely colourful space Beck. I'm so pleased you are feeling calmer. The buttons and the scrabble tiles are like little bits of ideas ready to hatch. I can't wait to see what they become. XX

wow, what a full creative space - you scored with the buttons. The rabbit is adorable - I think some little blue pants would look cute...

Gorgeous bunny, I don't think he needs pants but I also don't think pants would hurt. Lovely buttons too.
thanks for your encouragement and sweet comment.

Oh boy! What a creative feast! Love those buttons - I'm afraid I don't have any suggestions for cleaning them. The scrabble pieces are totally fab - brooches a fabulous idea. I love your rabbit (I think pants would be cute but still very gorgeous without too). K

That is one mighty creative space right there. Your bunny's are really beautiful. The photos on your left hand side are really great too, I love the green knitted cardigan on the top one and wish that it could fit me. Its exactly the colour green that I am always looking out for.

Love the vintage buttons and think it's a top banana idea to make brooches out of the scrabble pieces - will look great I am sure.
As for bunny no pants (which where I come from means knickers!?) I think he's a country bunny so it's pretty much anything goes with them, if it was a city bunny it would be a whole other matter but it's fine as is I reckon, letting it all hang out...!

Thanks for stopping by my place, I'm over in Aus as husband is working out here, on a film, heading back to the chilly Uk at the end of Nov. x

Great post! Dishwasher in a stocking or laundry bag works but can sometimes be a bit abraisive. Soaking in warm water with a bit of detergent or napisan works well to. Have fun!

Holy Moly you've got a lot going on! (AND it's so pretty....! Love the scrabble tiles...!)

Thanks for popping by my blog again, I love it when you visit! ;)

Lots of lovely things! I think the bunny should have trousers - it might be a bit chilly without!

hi, lovely buttons, would the dishwasher work? Wouldn't they just spin around inside? The rabbit and his new friend is lovely too, I do't think he needs pants but I bet they would look good if he had them
: )

Does he need pants?? Hmmm not something I have ever contemplated before, whether a bunny needs dacks on!
My instinct is to say "no, he looks just fine". That said I know my three-year-olds would ask "why doesn't the bunny have pants on?" Not much help really am I.
Love the wooden Scrabble tiles - my mum has a set that old.

Hi - it ws me, with the dishwasher buttons! I put them insde a net bag, and the net bag inside a cullinder, so I was really cautious. Then I set it off on a 30 degrees short wash, to be extra-sure I wasn't doing anything rash. The MOP buttons came up perfectly, but some of the glass ones were still a little grubby around the patterning. Best of luck! PS I love your buttons...
