My Place & Yours...my shelf

I thought I'd play along with Pip's game today, what a great theme...
These are some old friends of mine who hang out on the shelf in my room.

This is the orginal Charlotte who once had a voice. The cavity that held the voice box was a good hiding spot for contraband when I was 15. Now she leads a quieter life and loves to look at birds out the window.

Helen Holiday once spent some time at the Doll Hospital, in Melbourne. She had to have a major & extremely important hair operation. She came back wrapped in brown paper with luscious locks that were so fun to brush.

Small Ted once belonged to my first ever boyfriend, Antony. I made him a shell necklace many years ago when I was a young and careless teen. Antony died when he was nineteen so Small Ted is extra precious and brings back memories of someone who I loved so much.

Big Ted was found languishing in an opshop many years ago. A quiet soul with a mysterious past, Big Ted is very fond of Helen. I think he whispers secrets to her at night. (She is a good listener & very trustworthy.)
My shelf of dolls and toys is a happy place - it reminds me of the child within me, of playing and make believe and special parts of the past that are close to my heart. For more shelves check here xo

Oh I love your dolls. I have such a soft spot for old dolls, it's been a horrible weakness for quite a number of years now!! They are just divine. You are very lucky

Thanks for your comment and your thoughts about little Finn. I signed up then completely forgot to post about my shelf, silly, too much on my mind. I'll have to do it tonight when the baby is asleep. Your little Ted is so cute and lovely to have something tangible to connect memories to.

I am constantly amazed at how you are able to keep your treasures and not share them with your littles. Here they would be nude with glue in thier hair under someones bed. I love that you have them to remind you and to make you happy.

I imagine that one look at those personalities and you are flung back into a world that had little to do with where you are now, although also a lot to do with what you are now.
