First day

Guess who had her first day of school today?

Rosie!!

All the family were so excited, our littlest one is finally going to school!

So of course we had First Day Photo's, a family tradition in our house. Don't you just love a tradition like this? We do.

Soon it was out the gate, don't want to be late..

Soon we were in the Prep room looking for Rosie's table. How exciting, all her friends were there too.

It was an emotional morning but I was happy and felt good about Rosie starting school. Her teacher is lovely, the school is fantastic and it's a good feeling knowing her sister's and brother are there too.

Rosie drew a crocodile for Daddy and then it was time for me to go.
After a coffee with the other Prep parents it was back home to a messy and empty house!
So quiet without the noise of the kids, I had a little cry and sat on the couch for a while, not sure what to do with myself!
I think it will take a week or two to settle in, for all of us.
Rosie had a great morning and although school is a 'tiny bit boring' I think she will love it.
Letting go can be hard can't it? I know I'm ready and so is she but
it still takes time to get used to change. Who knows what this new year will bring?

Have you had a good week? I'm looking forward to the weekend and seeing all the gang at ballet tomorrow, hope yours is a happy one,
see you soon xo

Sometimes changes are difficult to accept, but they are necessary.
And yes, letting go og our children is so hard. Luckily we are creative women and are full of resources.
Lovely photos, lovely kids.

Sniff. Sweet Rosie is a school kid!

We also have the first day of school, photo tradition. Ours somehow always look a whole lot more Quick We're Going To Be Late! than yours do.

I am happy to hear that Rosie had a wonderful day! She is the tallest of her friends too! Hopefully in a week or two you will have plenty to do and the day will pass by quicker than you think. Isnt it strange getting used to the silence whilst they are at school!

Oh Beck, she looks so cute. Caleb found school a bit boring at first last year too. He would say, "There are all these toys and things, but we are hardly allowed to play at all!" Hope she settles in well and that you do too to your new life.

Oh my goodness, look at all those big kids off to school! It is both good, and so hard to see them growing up sometimes. So happy to hear that the school, teacher, family and chums are all there to rally 'round!

Treat yourself a little!
