My Creative Space

This week I'm loving colour, especially red.

For quite a while I have had three (once) white tops lying around, each with different annoying stains. I finally bought some scarlet dye last week and now I have three new things to wear!

I need to change the buttons on this shirt but besides that I'm really happy with the way it turned out.

I'm also loving shadows. The autumn light makes everything seem different and I'm constantly finding shadows & shapes wherever I look. Do remember discovering your shadow when you were little?

Shadows and light. I'm loving the rich, honey glow of my quince jelly which was so easy & fun to make. Here is the link, why not find some quinces and get hooked too! Betty from my local opshop very kindly kept me some ace jars, not too big, not too small. I know who will be getting a jar of this golden treat next week, onya Betty.

I'm working on bunnies too although I'm fresh out of bunny eyes so I'll have to make a trip to Ballarat. Does anyone know of a good safety eye supplier?

Talking of eys these new fabrics caught my eye the other day and found their way home with me. I usually use vintage fabrics but it's nice to have options...

For the first time I have cut out heaps of bunnies, all at once. Usually I work on one or two at a time. But it's good to do things differently, it keeps things interesting doesn't it?

Also this week we have been planning and getting excited as it's Lucy's 10th birthday on Friday!
Look at my big girl, isn't she the bees knees? I can't wait to celebrate with her.

So, lots on as usual but all under the calmer umbrella of school holidays. I love the relaxed pace, having the kids around, making stuff & hanging out in the garden. I'm trying to turn a blind eye to the inevitable extra chaos around the house, yes I'm tryng to Embrace The Chaos!

( I wonder if that could be the new "Keep Calm & Carry On'...?
Maybe I'll print that on a tea towel one day!)

Before I go have you seen the great classes that the Victorian Tapestry Workshop are running? Scoot over and have a look, not just weaving but HEAPS of other ace sounding things, softies, knitting, go on, have a look!

How is your space today? Is it colourful? Shadowy? Light? I can't wait to see, I'm just off to pop over to Kirsty's for some lovely inspiration. See you soon sweeties xo

Red USED to be my favorite colour since I was in primary school. Then I discovered I was colourblind. Now I have no idea what to think. It still looks nice to me anyway.

Great minds think alike. I was just looking at all the white tops I have in my wardrobe this morning and wishing for colour. I shall have to follow your lead and go and dye them a beautiful scarlett.
Happy birthday to your daughter too. She definately is the bees knees :o)
