The old Penny Arcade

On Tuesday we went to Fisherman's Wharf to try and find the Mussee Mecanique, once known as the Penny Arcade. We had visited it eleven years before, when it was perched on a cliff overlooking the sea.

Since then it has moved, to the much busier, nosier area of Fisherman's Wharf.

Eventually we found it, nestled in between the piers & restaurants, gulls and car parks. And it was JUST as fabulous as it was all those years ago. So many cool old games, photo booths & other fun things.

We filled our pockets with quarters and had the best time!

Does anyone else remember this puppet Peppy? There was a Peppy puppet at my Nan's supermarket in Were St, Brighton, when we were kids. I nagged and nagged Nan to give me coins so I could make Peppy dance and listen to his funny songs. Guess who else fell under Peppy's spell?

The girls & I had a ball playing Whack a Mole, getting our fortunes told, having photo booth photo's taken and discovering so many games from long ago. Too soon it was time to go, I could have stayed all day.

So we caught one of the many beautiful electric street cars back to our hotel. These cars are one of my favourite things about San Francisco, they have been collected from all over America and now run up and down the streets taking people here and there. This is such a lovely one isn't it? See ya later alligator xo
