Living in a cloud...

This week our little town has been covered in a thick layer of fog.

So beautiful and atmospheric..

It's been like living in a cloud.

Bill and I went for a lovely wander up at the Wombat Botanical Gardens yesterday. As we walked between the beautiful, big trees it was like being in a kind of fairy land. It was a strangely magical feeling.

The mist swirled all around the town. It covered the townhall in a soft, white blanket. The light was muted and the whole world seemed to slow down.

Mist and fog are not fun to drive in so it was steady- as- she- goes on the way back home. I could have stayed forever up there on Wombat Hill but the lure of hot pikelets and maple syrup was just too much. Now I'm just waiting patiently for snow. What's happening in your part of the world? xo

I'm amazed you weren't whisked off to have tea with fairies by the Queen herself, or found a wardrobe to walk into and through, or happened across a hobbity hovel! Yum.

It looks romantic and haunting all rolled into one. Your pictures are so pretty.
It's hard to imagine snow.... it is very hot here already and it's just after 9:00am. Shall we trade for a day?

Oh wow, how atmospheric. Thanks for those incredible photos, and for the reminder that fog needn't make for a miserable week. Here we have hot sun but some strange winds - I am very succeptible to the winds, and they are getting strong every evening at the moment. I wouldn't swap it for your fog, though!

Beautiful photos Beck. You made it look enchanted and mysterious without the heavy feeling. XX

that fog is impressive! no fog here in clifton hill. have been having brightish mornings that feel a little springlike then cold cloudy wet afternoons just when the kids are getting super feral and the need to GET OUT is urgent. gorgeous photos and those piklets look scrumy.

Thanks so much for sharing those beautiful photo's! It's in the middle of the summer here and quite hot and I so long for fall and colder days. I think that summer is my least fav season 'cause of the heat. happy weekend to you! :)

Hey Beck - those photos of the mist are awsomely beautiful. And life in a small country town sounds so lovely. I feel a bit envious in the suburbs but I know you can create a friendly community anywhere so I'm working on it.
