Once upon a time...

...there was a little girl called Beck. All her holiday vagueness wafted away leaving her feet firmly planted on the ground. Housework! Cooking! Bills! Shock! Horror! Piles of stuff need sorting, school bags unearthed, the garden needs a good sweep and weed, the dogs need a walk, whats for dinner??? ahhhh!!! I think she needs another holiday. Anyway, to escape all the house hold chores yesterday I heard she set off with her younger three girls to the fairly amazing and quite kooky Fairy Park at Anakie, near Geelong. Have you been there?

Set high up on a hill the Fairy Park is a steep climb through thirty or so fairy stories in little rooms, caves & houses, all with a button to press (it's my turn!) which provides the story. The bedazzled & enthralled public listen intently whilst being entertained by the likes of Cinderella, Goldilocks, Snow White, Aladdin like puppets/creatures etc. whose stilted movements are uncannily lifelike and not a little spooky. Rosie's eyes were almost popping out.

It really was quite hilarious.

My what big eyes you have!

Besides running away to fairy land I have been a busy bee trying to catch up (is this ever possible?) and also get my head around the next few weeks. There is a lot on. Phew. I am starting uni next week and I am hoping I am going to be able to get all my work done as well as all the extra things that I love to do. Such as sewing, markets, garlic...oh, and looking after the family! Just a minor detail. No, seriously it will be a little tricky but I am determined to be organised and also to keep healthy so I can keep up! I wonder if there will be time for blogging? Hmm....hope so.

Another favourite of mine which I will ALWAYS have time for is popping in to op shops. I had lots of fun in Queensland looking for treasures. The opshops I went in to were really good, mostly in Maroochydore. Lifeline, Salvo's and good old Vinnies. The fancy Vinnies shop was out the front and the fantastic daggy stuff out the back in a shed. Guess which bit I loved? Lots of great books and bits & pieces inclulding a huge mound of Lego. I also found an amazing set of brand new Tupperware in one shop but it was just too big to bring back on the plane. I love these Uncle Arthur books, have you seen them?

They have hysterical comments under each photo & chapter titles that really crack me up.

Today Charlotte and I continued with our revamp of our dining table. It's turning into the project that Takes Over Your Life. Just what I need right now.... the table looks good, it was a worn out green with a timber top and now it is fresh & white! I'm hoping to paint the chairs all different colours but it could take me several ...years??? Watch this space (but don't hold your breath).

So the holidays are coming to an end. Charlotte has headed back to Melbourne this afternoon. This is always hard for me, I really miss her. I think I'm going to miss the others too when they go back to school. It's been fun spending more time with them, getting up later and not rushing around. Speaking of which we have a busy weekend coming up, a party, a market stall and getting ready for school. What are you up to? Hope its fun, bye for now xo
