What's happening in your space today? I'm finishing off a couple of things and tweaking others. I'm feeling happy about my newest bunny and am more relaxed about the no clothes factor. What do you think?  I like idea of a slightly worn and much loved bunny being carried around and snuggled, clothes or no clothes. There's nothing better than seeing a little one carrying a Dandelion bunny, it makes me feel so good!

This week I finished a little cot sized quilt,

as well as starting on Sunday's quilt cover. Max thinks the whole thing is a bit of a yawn, bring on the chook scraps and hurry up, ok??

But Sunday likes the randomness of her new vintage linen doona cover, and doesn't seem to mind the inevitable.....

wonkiness.

Which is just as well as I noticed I put two of the same pieces of fabric too close together. Oh well, she's happy and that's all that matters.

And I'm happy that I finally have put a new bunny in the shop! Meet Clementine, above. And also that I am back into sewing again. Life is busy and there is so much to do all the time, it's nice to have some time away to sew and dream and create. Now I'm off to see what's happening in your space, see you soon xo

At my house

At my house we have adopted a lost cat called Sophie. Isn't she sweet? Here she is meowing and asking for some milk in a bowl. At my house I'm thinking about the great weekend we've just had. The sun was shining and everyone seemed happier & full of energy.

Bill had his haircut and is looking super spunky, I love it when his hair is short like this.

He is also getting into his new (op shop) yo yo and masterings some pretty tricky manoeuvres. I'm kicking myself for not buying the whole box of yo-yo's, at 20c each! What was I thinking?

I managed to get back into the world of sewing too, after being away it felt quite weird. I'm a bit excited about these new cardi's and I can't wait to get cracking on some new bunnies this week. Keep an eye out as I will be adding to the shop in the next few days.

Speaking of bunnies I'm just finishing these three for lovely Cathie.

I also finished a bed cover/quilt which I might put in my shop or take to the market. I"m loving the mismatched vintage fabric.

Not really loving the unpicking bit though. Things didn't line up properly first time round...

Because it's Spring we also did a bit of Spring Cleaning. We have a funny sort of alcove thing outside Lucy's room (which was an old shed that we turned into her bedroom) which connects it to the rest of the house. The dogs have always slept there but we are relocating them to another part of the deck so that Lucy can use this area as well as her room is quite small.

It was FILTHY after several years of doggy use. Spiders aplenty and lots of dust and the odd bone. Lucy, with some help from the others, cleaned all day and did a fantastic job! Can't wait till the next stage begins as it needs a little carpentry to seal it from the outside.

Here she is outside her bedroom having a well earned rest & snuggle with Max & Daisy.

You should see Freddie chasing Max around the garden. He is such a cheeky boy. I gave him a taste of his own medicine yesterday, although I didn't do any wing flapping like he does. I'm hoping to pick up his new companions this week, two new young ducks to keep him company.

Fleamarket Finds

Lots of lovely finds to show you this week. This illustration comes from one of my favourite thrifted books, handed on to me by my mum who found it many years ago.

While I was taking the photo's for todays post I have had so much fun revisiting this gorgeous book.

If only you could see the many pages of beautiful ideas, patterns, pictures...

I'm seriously going to have to try to make some of these adorable dolls clothes, this is only page one! There is a very elaborate wedding dress over the page, I might have to start with something simpler though, such as bloomers, ok... maybe the hankie.

So sweet..

Yesterday on the way back from Melbourne I found this kids footy jumper for $1.50, just right for a certain girl I know who loves the Doggies!

And I'm pretty happy too with this cotton bedspread which appeared at Savers in Brunswick. Boy is that one bustling shop!

Finally here is a dear little tin pot thingie which I found a few weeks ago. I love the flowers, the little knob on top and the mystery of what to put in it? Any ideas?


I can't get enough op shop action. I love to make friends with the volunteers, they are the salt of the earth and are often older women who work hard, like a chat (sometimes) & are great at giving back to their community. My Place & Yours - My Collection(s)

I love this week's meme, MyCollection, hosted by lovely Kate from Foxs Lane. What an interesting theme, Thanks too, to Pip for hosting, I'm loving this weekly fun! I can't wait to see what collections are out there.

When I started to think about what I collect it took me a while to define one thing/group. In the end I realised that I collect collections! I won't try to list them all on this post but here a few of the things I love.

I've always liked old photo's and I adore my group of 'lost people'. Why and how these sweeties ended up in the op shop I'll never know, but the mother in me gathers them up and brings them home to be looked after and loved.





The War boys are so special and they become like great uncles who we've never met. The two little girls with their dear little hair cuts and toys will always be children, they make me smile.

I seem to have collected a few of my own children along the way too. They are my most prized and loved collection. As far as collections go they are the least predictable, most argumentative, definitely the most diverse, the funniest, most loving (and at times the most challenging). An extremely treasured, colourful and ever changing collection.

Ok then there is the dog thing. I've always loved doggies. I've had a few real ones (Ruby, Jem, Toby, Jack, Spud, Gidget and now Max & Daisy). I've also managed to gain quite a few china dogs and assorted other dog paraphernalia. Although I don't actively collect them anymore I still love to look at their sombre expressions and their lovely shapes and colours.



Bed covers, blankets, quilts...yep, I collect them too. Along with an extensive collection of vintage sheets and linen. Probably too many to show today but here a few special ones. The bedspread on top is my favourite find. $5 at Savers and it's the most BEAUTIFUL vintage piece of prettiness I've ever found. Ahh.......



Little weeny cups are fun to collect. They don't take up too much room and are good for storing baby teeth!

I haven't even got to the kitchen where lurks....

...more collections. I'm starting to worry about myself. Is this collecting business healthy?

I haven't even touched on my Daylesford collection, or the box of snow domes out in the shed, or the pet collection, the vintage sewing books, the teddies, the wedding cake toppers, the shells and special rocks, the rubber bands...oh someone stop me!!! ahhh!!

Kate, you asked some great questions of us collectors and I don't know where to start to answer them. I do know thatsome of my collections are ongoing, some will stay as they are, gathering dust, the group of five will be ever precious and are growing every day, and all of them make me happy! I really can't see that there is a limit to collecting, it's seems a very natural hobby.

Collecting quirky bits and looking for specialness in the world are two of the best things in my life.
