Fleamarket finds

Have you had a good week? A highlight of mine was making these delicious donut cakes that I came across via Pardon my Chaos. They are so good I'm making more today! I love to eat something sweet with a nice cuppa and my prettiest opshop plate.

A few weeks ago I bought my mum a cane couch & two chairs at a garage sale. Michelle kindly picked them up this week, thanks Michelle! They are now sitting on mum's new deck, waiting for some cushions, and someone to sit on them.

And for a sunny day!

On the way home from Melbourne on Friday I went through Bacchus Marsh and made a stop at three oppies. I found these sweet sheets which will be great for the Australian Vintage Sheet Fat Quarter Swap! I especially love the purple one & the spotty one, but they are all ace.

This is an old find, actually I think my dad found it as we have had this scooter since we were kids. I really should get it out of the rain!

A run to the tip shop yesterday was fun. There are about 8 boxes of books there at the moment, unfortunatley a bit rain damaged, but I came home with a pile of beauties. I've just started a crochet project so this book will come in handy! Did you find some treasures this week? I'm off to Sophie's to have a look, see you soon xo

First things first, happy Mother's day to all of you mums out there, I hope you have a lovely day and celebrate the amazing job that you do. Our school held an amazing Mothers Day liturgy last week and it was so moving and beautiful I kept finding myself crying. The children sang, their dear voices telling us how much they love us, they read poems, hilarious and sweet and there was a slide show of photo's of all the mums & their kids. Afterwards we received cards and a little gift they had made. It was really the lovliest morning. One of the older girls read out a poem to her mother who had died, it was so brave of her, and so emotional. I don't think there was a dry eye in the room. This just reminds me of how important we are as mothers and that the bond we have with our children is one that can never really be broken. So enjoy your day today beautiful mums, and have lots of cuddles with your children.

I love this dear little framed portrait that looked up at me from the opshop, how could I refuse her? She will find a happy home on Sunday's wall where I am planning to hang a little group of thrifted framed finds. I'm thinking ballerinas and pretty flowers, won't that look sweet?

Ahh..the tip shop, home of cast offs, pre loved sweeties, treasures that had once been part of a family, part of a life..I am a real sucker for beautiful cast offs and the unwanted items, I can't help it...

This gorgeous ,white cane highchair was waiting for me last week. It's more of a high chair than a highchair, if you know what I mean. No tray or grungy food encrusted bits, thank goodness. I don't need it but boy do I like it.

How much Mr Tip Man? Awww...$2 sound alright? Yep, that sounds just fine, thankyou!

Do you like this little dolly bed?

It just needs a little crocheted blanket and a sleepy little toy to make it nice and cosy.

Finally I recently discovered these two tapestry bags at the MS Opshop, here in Daylesford.

The first one is older and so sweet, I love this detail of a fancy lady.

But I really like this one too, the colours and roses...gorgeous. Of course I'm looking forward to seeing what you have found this week. Do you think Sophie is up yet? I bet she is having a sleep in, I'll pop over later and see what other treasures have been discovered.
Have a happy day lovelies xo

Finding the balance..

Every day these beautiful horses watch us dropping off our kids from their paddock next to school. They gather together under the chestnut tree and gaze dreamily or slowly munch on grass.

Their stillness is so soothing. Their brown eyes calmly watch the world go by. They remind me to slow down, to breath, to do one thing at a time. To just...be.

After visiting the city last week I was reminded why I am so happy we moved to the country. The busy, busy car dominated city just exhausts me. I really need space, and greenness, and sky. And beautiful horses are a lovely bonus.

Talking of lovely things here is my Avoca opshop blanket. It is so FANTASTIC! It is so big, can you imagine how long it would have taken to make?

Something sweet happened to me a couple of days ago! An award from lovely Floss over at Troc, Broc & Recup. She lives in France with her beautiful family & has a real knack for finding vintage treasures. Her blog is always a treat to visit...pop over and say hello!
I love an award with a cup of tea on it! Might go and put the kettle on.

Ahh..that's better! Nothing like a good cuppa. Time to tootle off now. Rosie & I are going to the park. Before I go here is another horsey friend. (There seems to be a horsey thing going on lately.) On the way back from Ballarat yesterday the girls and I came across this little pony outside a shop in Creswick. How cute!! x
